Tip #1: Forget Perfection

There’s no room for perfection. If you’re a perfectionist, now is the time to work past it. Between being a mother and trying to monetize your blog, there’s no time to be perfect. It will only get in your way and keep you from moving forward. Write your post, proofread it for grammatical errors, and post it. Don’t over-think it. No matter how many times you read it, you’ll always find something you could change. If you wait for perfection to publish, it’ll never get published.

Tip #2: Be Realistic

It’s good to make lists, schedule tasks, and set expectations, but it’s important that you are honest with yourself. Yes, in a perfect world, it would be nice to clean the entire house, write 3 blog posts, update all your social media, respond to every email, take care of the children, and still have time for yourself, all in one day. But that’s not realistic. In order to really make progress on your blog (and in your life) it’s important to set realistic expectations for yourself. Acknowledge how many hours are in the day and how much energy you actually have. And if you make a plan but end up needing to alter it, don’t freak out. It’s okay for plans to change. Life happens. Just breathe and take it one day at a time. You’ll get there.

Tip #3: Take Time for Yourself

I know it sounds counterproductive to take time out of the day for yourself, but it’s more important than you might think. When you’re stressed out and exhausted you don’t think as clearly as you do when you’re calm and rested. Take at least an hour each day to turn off your brain. Exercise, take a hot bath, watch an episode of your favorite show. Do whatever you need to do to clear your mind and regroup. You’ll find that you’ll be happier and more content. Not to mention, you’ll be making better decisions.

Tip #4: Be Open to Opportunities

If you want to be successful, you’ll have to be willing to take risks and put yourself out there. Networking is a big part of monetizing your blog. Join social media groups, ask to write paid reviews for products, invite other bloggers to write guest posts. The more you reach out and extend your business circle, the more successful you’ll be!
